NOTRE HISTOIRE
Le president, Dina Helen Essoka, est arrivée au Canada en 2015 avec sa famille, n'ayant que peu ou pas d'idée quant à la façon de vivre au Canada. Ayant vécu dans un environnement culturel différent, il était difficile de trouver notre chemin. Chaque nouveau jour était comme un cauchemar pour nous. Nous ne nous souvenons pas combien de fois nous avons essayé de remplir des documents à la maison sans succes ou le nombre de fois que nous nous sommes perdus dans la ville, ou sont restés sans emploi, ou abandonne a nous meme jusqu'à ce que nous avons trouvé le WELCOME CENTRE à Vaughan.Ce serait un euphémisme de dire que nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux. Ce centre, en collaboration avec COSTI Employment Services Vaughan, nous a fourni tous les services dont nous avons besoin gratuitement. De l'information sur le logement, les services sociaux, l'éducation, les tests de langue, la rédaction de curriculum vitae, la recherche d'emploi, les formations, à la demande de résidence permanente. Ma gratitude particulière à cette équipe de travailleurs bienveillants.Cependant, mon epoux, avait encore des difficultés à s'intégrer dans la communauté parce que ses études étaient entièrement faites en Français. Pour être honnête, nous avons également été informés de certains centres de Français, mais ils n'étaient pas si près de nous, et avait d'autres affectations sans rapport avec ce dont nous avions besoin à l'époque. Nos enfants aussi avaient des origines francophones. Ils avaient besoin d'un enviroment qu'ils pouvaient librement communiquer avec d'autres enfants qui parlaient Français aussi, après avoir appris l'anglais toute la journée à l'école. Je me souviens, l'un d'eux nous a suggéré de déménager au Québec. Puis la pensée m'est venue. « Vous pouvez garder votre famille à l'aise en Ontario et aider également les autres nouveaux arrivants à éviter ces terribles moments d'incapacité d'intégration.ouais! Nous n'avons pas seulement apprécié et plié les bras, mais nous avons pensé qu'il était temps de redonner à la communauté. Nous avons pensé qu'il était important d'exploiter nos talents bilingues Français pour ajouter quelque chose de nouveau aux services d'établissement et d'intégration que nous avons reçus. Puis la naissance d'ESSOKA FRENCH BILINGUAL NEWCOMERS HELP CENTER en 2019!!!!!
Our Story
Our story:The CEO and Founder , Dina Helen Essoka , arrived Canada in 2015 with her family, with little or no idea as to how to go about life in Canada. Having lived in a different cultural environment, it was hard to find our way out. Each new day was like a nightmare to us. We can't remember how many times we tried to fill documents at home and did the wrong thing, or the number of times we got lost in Town, or stayed without jobs, or felt left in the cold, until we found the WELCOME CENTRE in Vaughan.It would be an understatement to say we were given a warm welcome. This centre, together with COSTI Employment Services Vaughan, provided us with all our needed services for free. From information on housing, social services, education, language tests, resume writing, job search, trainings, to the application for permanent residence. My special gratitude to this team of benevolent workers.However, my husband still had difficulties integrating in the community because his studies were done entirely in French. To be honest enough, we were equally informed of some French Centers, but they were not so close to us, and had other assignments unrelated to what we needed at the time. Our kids too have Francophone backgrounds . They needed an environment they could freely relate with other kids who spoke French as well, after learning English all day in school. I remember, one of them suggested we move to Quebec. Then the thought came to me. " You can keep your family comfortable in Ontario, and equally help other newcomers avoid these dreadful moments of inability to integrate.Yes! We did not just appreciate and fold our arms, but thought it was time to give back to the community. We thought it was important to exploit our French Bilingual talents to add something new to the settlement and integration services we received. Then the birth of ESSOKA FRENCH BILINGUAL NEWCOMERS HELP CENTER in 2019!!!!!
